La obscuridad, invita a la experiencia.
I had the opportunity to experience complete darkness.
I did spend my night with no air conditioning, no television, no computers, no opened windows, no lights, no telephone, just water. It reminds me of the first two months I spent in my apartment when I moved in for the first time. The difference is I actually didn´t have furniture at all, not even a fridge. There are things of those days that I still remember with a nice smile on my face. I used to work 5 mins away from home -walking distance-. And everything was very simple. Leon was completely alone, very solitary.
At first it was very difficult to find entertainment by being lonely. What would a human being do without a TV or an internet connection. Especially me, an internet junkie.
Last night´s darkness took me to a path in which I actually had to use my imagination, my head, to think, to work on my self. Things I haven´t done lately, because “I don´t have the time”. I grabbed my acoustic guitar and did play for a few hours, and noticed how rusty I´m getting … that´s because I never have the time to actually work on things I really like to do. Discipline.
I did make a list of all the things I want to fulfill this year and listed the things that I´m lacking of the previously mentioned discipline… as well.
It all started at 6 p.m and ended at 8 a.m. this morning. During the night I did use my recently purchased iPod. I didn´t run out of batteries. I decided to listen to an album I haven´t listened to for a while, the choice was Vagabundo by Robi Draco Rosa. It´s probably the best latin rock cd I´ve heard. I did pay attention to the lyrics, song after song, until I noticed it is all about a love-death-cocaine-frustration-and-love story… it is amazing. Sorry Soda Stereo… Vagabundo is a masterpiece.
I don´t know how comfortable people might be without all the comfortable things at home. But I did find out that I can still feel happy without the things I´ve got. I can actually have pen and a paper, a guitar, and my books. I should do this often and finish reading the stack of books I haven´t read…yet.
Also, reading the Anna B´koach was helpful.
I think that after darkness is gone…the Light will come.
SODA STEREO in Panama
This has been the best concert I’ve ever been. They did play the exact list of songs I published two posts ago.
Excellent sound, excellent lights, great performance and a very good crowd.
It seems the show had more than 19,000 people in attendance which is one big number for a third world country.
I have got some “stolen” pictures from my friend’s camera on my photo album.
